Today, at Tokyo Game Show 2018, Square Enix has announced Romancing Saga Re;univerSe and shared new details on the upcoming Romancing SaGa 3 HD remaster.
Romancing Saga Re;univerSe is a sequel to Romancing SaGa 3 and takes places 300 years after that title. It will also feature various main characters from different SaGa games. The game is scheduled to release in Japan for iOS and Android.
The original Romancing SaGa 3 released in 1995 for Super Nintendo exclusively in Japan. The HD remaster of the game was announced in 2017 after Romancing SaGa 2’s HD remaster released, but we had no new information until today.
The SaGa series actually has its own browser gacha game with Imperial SaGa, so it will be interesting to see which direction this new game will take, though microtransactions have already been confirmed.
Romancing SaGa 3 ‘s HD remaster is scheduled for release in early 2019 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PS Vita, iOS and Android. A western release was previously announced too, but we don’t know yet if it’ll make it to all these platforms.
Romancing Saga Re;univerSe will launch in Japan for iOS and Android with no release date estimate yet. In the meantime, you can watch the announcement trailer for both games below.
