Entergram delayed the KonoSuba PS4, Vita dungeon crawler RPG by three months, citing development problems.
Entergram announced that the upcoming KonoSuba dungeon crawler RPG, or Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! ~Kibou no Meikyuu to Tsudoishi Boukenshatachi~, got delayed. The game was supposed to come out on March 28 but was now pushed back to June 27, still on PS Vita and PS4. Japanese games get delayed all the time, but usually not by that much. Rather than the usual “we’ve delayed the game to increase its quality” statement that all Japanese studio uses, Entergram stated on the official site that they’ve encountered problems with the game’s development.
New screenshots and details of the bonus game found in first print copies, KonoSuba, ~Let’s Educate a Useless Goddess~. were revealed as well. As most already guessed, the game is a clone of Gainax’s Princess Maker featuring Aqua.
The game’s goal is to properly raise Aqua so she wins the Miss Axel contest. Basically Aqua has various stats, you can order her to do different jobs and activities, and her actions influence her stats. The final stats of Aqua determine which ending players will get. Aqua’s stats include strength, intelligence, eloquence, charisma, artistic sense and the like. Players can send her to do various jobs like shop clerk or adventurer. The game has a time limit, with each activity taking a certain amount of time, and Aqua needs to be ready before the Miss Axel contest on the final day. Things like Aqua’s mood, stress, and funds also need to be managed.
The game is pretty minimalistic and seems to only show Aqua’s activities through cute illustrations, and it’s basically a pure management game made of menus. You can check out more screenshots of it below.
Entergram also revealed the DLC cheerleader costumes for Aqua, Megumin, Darkness, and Yunyun. Costumes will be reflected by the characters’ models and portraits. You can check them below in the gallery.
KonoSuba is quite popular in the west, so this game might be localized at some point;
